Peloton: 200th Cooldown Ride

#WeRide4Leanne. During Leanne Hainsby’s Cool Down Ride from 12/13/2020 (11:35 AM) she comments, “Really listen to your body. It’s your home. So let’s look after it.” It struck home when I took the ride (01/02/2021) so I bookmarked it. And, years later she took to heart her own comment and went for a second opinion.

The same ride over and over again?

Leanne’s ride fits for me after an endurance ride because 1) the music is easy to listen to (Luther Vandross) and 2) the cool down includes some resistance. I know not to take it after an all out effort. For those I want a cool down with high cadence and low resistance cues (currently I choose Christine’s 12/21/2022 cool down ride having just switched out her 12/18/2020 ride).

Knowing your preferences and how you feel helps you pick the right ride for a particular day. But how do you really know what the ride will entail? Even power zone rides very within their descriptions. A power zone endurance ride can vary a great deal with respect to time in zone 3 or 2. I use to maintain a notebook on each class I took so I could retake a ride that had a workout pattern and length I liked. Obviously, I like to know what I’m getting into.

And not just cycling, as I’ve taken Matty Maggiacomo’s 20 min Upper Body Strength class from 12/14/2020 over 60 times, Denis’s 10 min Yoga Flow: Hips from 01/13/2020 over 30 times, and many more.

Sidenote: Looking at that page, there is no doubt as to why I Matt got the GOAT tag when reviewing PowerZone instructors

#surgeryrecovery vs #WeRide4Leanne

When I added the surgeryrecovery tag April 2022 at the time of my ankle surgery only 4 other members also had the tag. Now it has 244 members. Impressive; but it pales in comparison to the almost 15,000 who have the #WeRide4Leanne tag!

Though, I have no idea how a wedding flows in the UK, I have to figure they have a reception or party with dancing.

So, … given that 1) Peloton now has classes with dual hosts, 2) every one of those 15,000 members who have tagged #WeRide4Leanne would love to help celebrate her and Ben’s wedding, and 3) any party mix Leanne and Ben create would rock, … after they get married, can we please have a Peloton class where Leanne and Ben ride to the playlist from their reception/party and talk about that day/evening?
